Winda uses spaced repetition to schedule each card's reviews.

The daily session

Start practice begins the day’s session. It holds the cards that are due today, plus a limited number of new cards.

A session covers one deck and each deck keeps its own schedule.

Preview all

Preview all goes through every card in a deck, due or not. You can use it before an exam, or any time you want to see all cards at once instead of the ones that are scheduled today.

Preview doesn’t change the schedule of the cards.

How the schedule works

The idea is simple:

• The more likely you are to forget something, the sooner you should review it.
• The less likely you are to forget it, the longer you can wait for the next review.

A review of a flashcard has two results:

• Knew it makes the next review gap longer: about two days the first time, then a week or two, then months, and so on.
• Forgot brings the card back for a review later in the same session, and it will keep coming back until you answer Knew it. The gap then starts growing again from near the beginning.

A multiple-choice question grades itself: a correct answer counts as Knew it, a wrong one as Forgot. Winda shows you the right answer, with the reason, before you move on.

Here is an example of a card that you answer Knew it every time:
