Library
Your library holds everything you have saved to read. Winda supports web pages, YouTube videos, PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files, images, and plain text, and opens each of them in a reader with AI chat beside it.
Web pages
Winda fetches a web page and strips it down to its readable text.
It fetches the page as an anonymous visitor, so a page that needs you to be signed in cannot be fetched this way. You can save such pages with the browser extension, which reads the page from your own browser tab.
YouTube
A YouTube video plays beside its transcript. You can chat with AI within the context of the video’s transcript.
Documents
You can upload .pdf, .docx, and .pptx files, up to 32 MB each and up to
500 pages for a PDF.
The older .doc and .ppt formats are not supported; you can save them as .docx
or .pptx and upload them to Winda.
Images
You can upload .png, .jpg, .webp, and .gif files, up to 32 MB. Winda
reads the image itself, so you can ask about a photo of a page or a diagram,
and make cards from it.
Text
You can upload .txt and .md files, or paste text straight in, up to 1 MB.
What you can do with a passage
You can select any passage while you read:
- Annotate it. Winda explains or translates the passage in place.
- Make cards from it. Winda writes flashcards or quizzes based on the passage.
- Chat about it. Winda can answer questions about the passage in the context of the whole document.
Translation
Full-article translation works on web pages for now. The translation shows up under each paragraph, so you can read it against the original without switching back and forth.
You can translate a web page into any language. Just tell Winda which one, and how you want it done if you have a preference — for example, keeping technical terms in English.
Sharing
You can also share an item as a public link; anyone can open it, no account needed.
