Turning it on

Winda tries to be non-intrusive while staying as convenient as possible. It stays out of a site until you turn it on from the Winda icon in the browser toolbar.

What you can do on a page

• Save the page. Winda reads the page from your own tab instead of fetching it, so pages that need you to be signed in work too. You can add tags as you save, and open the saved copy in your library.
• Chat about the page. The chat opens beside the page and answers in the context of what you are reading. You do not have to save the page first.
• Make cards. You can select a passage and turn it into flashcards or quizzes.
• Annotate a passage. Select text in websites and Winda explains or translates it in place. Annotations on a web page are temporary: they are gone when you reload, and nothing is written to your library. Annotations in the reader are kept.
• Translate the page. Winda translates the whole page into your interface language, paragraph by paragraph, with each translation shown under the original.
• Copy the page as Markdown. The readable text of the page, with its title and source link, lands on your clipboard.
